About Me!
Hi my name is Isabella Fernandez but many call me Bella, I’m a warm hearted and motivated third year public relations student at California State University, Long Beach, with a deep passion for people centered storytelling and creating meaningful, uplifting experiences.
My work as a student assistant for the Center for Community Engagement has played a huge role in shaping who I am and the kind of professional I want to become. Supporting their social media and outreach efforts has expanded my understanding of how nonprofits serve diverse communities and how meaningful it is to highlight their work. I’ve helped amplify local organizations, share resources with students, and encourage volunteer involvement, all of which has strengthened my desire to work in environments centered around people, community, and connection. This experience showed me how much I value creating spaces where others feel supported, informed, and welcomed.
That same passion for people is what drew me to hospitality. My background in the field has taught me how to create warm, memorable interactions, stay composed in fast-pace environments, and lead with empathy and clarity. I love bringing joy to people and creating experiences that make them feel cared for. Thats why my long term goal is to grow into a global hospitality PR role, a space where I can connect with new cultures, communicate with intention, and create experiences that guests genuinely enjoy and carry with them.
To move toward that goal, I’m intentionally expanding my worldview through international experiences. This summer, I’ll be completing an internship in Cape Town, South Africa, where I’ll have the opportunity to learn from new cultures, broaden my perspective, and deepen my understanding of how people connect across different communities. In the fall, I’ll be studying abroad in Florence, Italy, continuing to strengthen my ability to communicate, collaborate, and build relationships with people from all backgrounds. These experiences are an important step in becoming the kind of global hospitality PR professional I aspire to be someone who leads with empathy, curiosity, and cultural awareness.
In my academic work, I’ve developed mock public relations projects that reflect my people first mindset, from internal wellness campaigns to media ready press kits. These experiences have strengthened my ability to craft intentional, purpose‑driven messages that honor an organization’s voice and values.
I’m someone who believes in optimism, kindness, and the power of speaking light, to live light. I’m excited to keep learning, keep growing, and keep creating work that uplifts others and leaves a positive impact, wherever in the world that journey takes me.
